“This beautiful region of France has offered me the chance to live in harmony with my passions for both cooking and nature.”
• Louise Combarieu •
A native of Denmark, I have now lived in Provence for over 30 years. At the age of seventeen I traveled to Provence and fell in love—with both a breathtaking region and with a Frenchman. Over time, I immersed myself in the beauty of Provence, slowly uncovering its hidden gems, from picturesque villages to its earthy, nurturing cuisine.
As my appreciation for the region deepened, so did a dream to one day share its wonders with others. This unfolded naturally, through a chance encounter at our local school with Lydia Dean, also a transplant from a foreign land. Days later a friendship was born on the rainy running trails outside the village of Rognes and the following years would be spent bonding through a shared love for nature, Provençal recipes and the simplicity of time spent around our dinner tables and fireplaces.
Lydia later suggested that I help with chef services and guided tours for their growing luxury villa rental business— Only Provence. A little unsure, I took a leap of faith to explore this new and completely unfamiliar path. I am proud to say that this blossomed into what has become my own business combining my passions for food, nature and helping curious guests discover the pleasures of a dinner with a private chef, and the joy of being guided to discover the most wonderful Provençal landscapes.
I offer over ten years of experience working with the best chefs and guides of Provence, while showcasing the magic of this region to visitors from around the world.
